Study on the pigment removal from Lycium barbarum polysaccharides by macroporous resin

  • The removal of pigments from crude polysaccharides from Lycium barbarum was investigated. With the orthogonal experiment, D318 was found to be the best adsorbent for pigments in lycium barbarum among 9types of macroporous adsorption resin tested. On the basis of static adsorption experiments, the removal rate of pigments was 67.32%, the retention rate of polysaccharides 85.49% and the protein clearance rate 58.76%when 25 mL of 3mg/mL crude polysaccharide solution at pH7.0 and 3h was made to flow through 3g of D318 column at a velocity of 3mg/mL. In conclusion, the resin was suitable for the decolorization of polysaccharides from Lycium barbarum.
