Cadmium is a kind of heavy metal ions which can cause irreversible damage to human kidney, skeletal and digestive system. Heavy metal cadmium pollution in food and its source and harmfulness were briefly described in this paper. And then the limitation standard in China was compared with others regarding their rationality, analysis technologies for the heavy metal in food have been presented and discussed in order to provide reference for controlling, supervising or detecting of cadmium in food.
