Study on antifungal activity of Ramulus cinnamomi

  • Seventeen kinds of phytopathogens such as Penicillium italicum, Penicillium digitatum and Botrytis cinerea were used as indicators to explore the antifungal activities of Ramulus cinnamomi by cylind-plate and mycelial growth rates methods, respectively. The results showed that Ramulus cinnamomi had a broader spectrum antifungal activity against the 17 sorts of tested phytopathogens, the inhibition zones against P.italicum and P.digitatum were (32.67 ±0.23) mm and (30.50 ±0.17) mm, respectively. While the minimum inhibitory concentrations (MIC) gainst P.italicum and P.digitatum were 3.125mg/mL and 6.25mg/mL, respectively, and the minimum fungicidal (MFC) concentrations were 6.25mg/mL and 12.5mg/mL, respectively. Meanwhile, the toxicity of indoor test of Ramulus cinnamomi against the other 15 phytopathogens showed that Ramulus cinnamomi extracts had the best antifungal activity on Diaporthe angelicae with the EC50 value of 0.4386mg/mL.The antifungal activities against other tested pathogens with EC50 values ranged from 1 to 22mg/mL.
