Study on mechanisms of flavonoids improving memory

  • Flavonoids have become a research hotspot because of their special physiological role and pharmacological activity. Emerging evidence suggests that dietary-derived flavonoids have the potential to improve human memory via their ability to protect vulnerable neurons, enhance existing neuronal function and stimulate neuronal regeneration and improve or reverse the age-related memory impairment. This paper summarized the mechanisms of flavonoids improving memory, it mainly played a role on the nerves and synapses, cerebral blood flow and neuroinflammation.
