Optimization of extraction process for lipid-soluble components in ginseng and its GC-MS analysis

  • With five- year cultivated ginseng as raw material, the lipid- soluble components in ginseng were extracted using supercritical CO2extraction technique. The conditions of extraction process were optimized through orthogonal design test and chemical compositions of extract were identified and quantified by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry ( GC- MS) .The results showed that the highest extract yield of ginseng lipid- soluble components was 85.38% ± 3.16%, with extraction pressure at 25MPa, extraction temperature at 40℃, extraction time at 3.5h and a material to entrainer ratio ( g /mL) at 1 ∶ 0.6.A total of 28 compounds were indentified from the ginseng lipid- soluble components extracted by supercritical CO2, among which fatty acids, esters, sterols, sesquiterpenes and alkene were the principal constituents.Three components including linoleic acid ( 43.12%) , 6-octadecenoic acid ( 21.65%) and hexadecenoic acid ( 11.86%) were present in higher relative amount.
