Effect of nanocomposite-based packaging on the postharvest quality of citrus fruit

  • Based on the pre- test results, LDPE bags contained 1% inorganic antimicrobial agent ( the main component of the nano- Ag, nano- Zn and kaolin) was suitable for the package of citrus fruit. The physical properties of the bag were analyzed.Meanwhile, the changes of quality and artificial inoculated disease on citrus fruit were studied. The results showed that the oxygen permeability and water vapor transmission rate of the nano- packaging material were reduced, and the tear strength was increased. The nano packaging could not influence the color of fruits, however, it could significantly inhibited the declining of fruit firmness and titratable acid and the increasing of weight loss, reduced the development of the artificial disease and postharvest loss.
