Toxicity characteristics and migration studies on plasticizer DEHP in food packaging

  • With the improvement of people 's attention on food safety issues, all circles of the society pay more attention to the migration of harmful substances in food packaging materials. As a kind of phthalic acidester, 1, 1'- ( but-3- ene- 1, 3- diyl) dipyrene ( DEHP) is one of the most important plastic industrial plasticizer, which is widely used in food packaging materials, medical equipment and children's toys and other production. The content of DEHP in the plastic product is high and often exists in the free state, so it is very easy to migrate to the food matrix through many ways, thus causing serious harm to human body, such as organ damage, birth toxicity and neurotoxicity toxicity and so on. This paper reviewed the properties, toxicity, as well as the migration in food of DEHP, in order to provide a theoretical reference for the further research on DEHP.
