Effect of Fermented Pu-erh Tea on the resistance to oxidative stress in rats with alcoholic fatty liver

  • To explore the effect of fermented Pu- erh tea on the resistance to oxidative stress in rats with alcoholic fatty liver, Wistar rats were divided into negative control group, postive control group, drug group, low, medium and high dose of the fermented Pu- erh tea group. All rats were sacrificed after 60 days' feeding and the genge expression of CYP2E1, IGF-1, liver tissue levels of ROS, SOD, GSH-PX and MDA; serum levels of INS, FFA and TG were observed. The experiment results showed that compared to the postive control group, the gene expression of CYP2E1 in high does group of fermented Pu-erh tea was significantly decreased ( p < 0.05) ; the gene expression of IGF-1, GSH-PX in high does group, SOD in medium and high does group of the fermented Pu- erh tea were significantly increased ( p < 0.05) ; the liver tissue levels of MDA in high group and ROS in medium and high does group, the serum levels of INS, TG in low, medium and high dose group, FFA in medium and high dose group of fermented Pu- erh tea were significantly decreased ( p < 0.05, p < 0.01) .Based on the above, one can draw a conclusion that fermented pu-erh tea can resistance to oxidative stress in rats with alcoholic fatty liver.
