Comparative studies of European, American and Japanese regulations, standards and guidelines for food label

  • Food label includes the information of food quality, nutrition, ageing time, edible guidance et al., which is one of the most important bases for choosing food. In daily lives, food label serves to protect the consumers and safeguard their right to know.This paper gave a comparative analysis of the similarities and differences of food label regulations or standards between China and the European Union, the United States, Japan by summarizing the current food label regulations of the 3 latter regions, and presented some observations on the food label regulations.
