Study on sequential extraction of polyphenol and pectin from apple peel

  • The new method of sequential producing polyphenol and pectin from dried apple peel was researched. The polyphenol extraction experiment showed that the polyphenol yield rate got to 18.29mg /g when apple peel were extracted with 20 times volume of 60% ethanol solution at 63℃ and 58min in ultrasonic bath, and the content of polyphenol was 52.56% purified with LX-36 absorption resin.Subsequently, extraction of pectin was performed with ion exchange resin-assisted protocol at resin content 11%, pH1.3, 2.0h, 75℃, solid-liquid ratio 1∶24 (g/mL) , and ultimately the yield of pectin got to 26.26% after ultra filtration. The sequential extraction could take full advantage of apple nutrition and have a good potential for industrial production.
