The influence of metalion stress on O-2 ·and SOD in the process of replicative senescence of Saccharomyces cerevisiae

  • The variation of production rate of superoxide anion free radical (O2 ·) and superoxide dismutase (SOD) activity in the aging process of Saccharomyces cerevisiae under metalion stress was researched. The combination of three kinds of ion and the single ion were added respectively, and at the same time set control experiment. The stress effects of copper and manganese were obvious, in the contrary that zinc almost had no effect. The combination of ion as zinc and manganese, copper and manganese, copper and zinc made great difference and the stress effect was decreased in turn.Three kinds of ion had the most significant stress effect all at once. The active oxygen was formed and the superoxide dismutase was stimulated by ion stress in saccharomyces cerevisiae cells.Along with the increase of algebra, the stress effect was become stronger. The synergy was existed between ions as well.
