Determination of sesamol in tobacco essence and flavor using high-performance liquid chromatography

  • The aim was to build a method for the determination of sesamol in tobacco essence and flavor using HPLC.After ultrasonic-extraction, these samples were separated by C18 column and detected by diode array detector, qualitative analyzed by the retention time and quantitative analyzed by the external standard method.Results showed that there was better linear relation to sesamol within the range of 0.1 50.0 μg/mL, the low detection limit was 0.27μg/g, the limit of quantification was 0.82μg/g, the recovery was from 93.6% to 103.7%, the RSD<6% (n=5) .The method was sensitive, accurate and easy-controlled, and it was suitable for batch determination of sesamol in tobacco essence and flavor.
