Effects of total flavonoids from chuju on hemorheology in diabetic rats

  • Objective: To observe the effect of total flavonoids from chuju on hemorheology in diabetic rats.Methods: The diabetic rat model was induced by vena caudalis injecting streptozotocin.The clotting time was determined, the length, dry and wet weight of thromb, viscosity of whole blood and plasma, erythrocyte sedimentation rate and hematocrit were measured, and the concentration of NO in serum was also determined. Results: Total flavonoids from chuju could significantly prolong the clotting time, reduce the length, dry and wet weight of thromb, viscosity of whole blood and plasma, erythrocyte sedimentation rate and hematocrit, decrease the concentration of NO in serum.Conclusion: Total flavonoids from chuju could improve hemorheology abnormality of diabetic rats.
