Detection of Arcobacter by polymerase chain reaction method based on the rpoB gene

  • To establish a rapid, sensitive and specific method of polymerase chain reaction ( PCR) for detection of Arcobacter species.PCR technique was used to amplify the rpoB gene of Arcobacter, and meanwhile the specificity and sensitivity of this method were valued. Only the target gene of Arcobacter was amplified at 205bp, while the fragments of other bacteria were not detected. The detection limit could reach 8.20 × 102 cfu /mL.This PCR method was useful for the investigation of Arcobacter in food, with the advantages of simple operation, accurate reliability and good sensitivity.
