Research progress in the mechanism of anti-obesity effect of tea

Obesity may occur after long period of disoders in appetite and energy metabolism regulations.Obesity is strongly associated with many diseases.Therefore, searching for the high effective and safe anti-obesity medicine has become the common aspiration of people.Tea, with its putative function of anti-obesity, has attracted more and more attention all over the world.In recent years, tens of literatures were focused on the mechanism of the anti-obesity effects of tea.In this paper, recent progress on tea anti-obesity mechanism was reviewed, including inhibiting the absorption of nutritients, improving lipid metabolism, promoting lipoapoptosis, regulation of obesity-related genes, and a plausible pathway.
