Study on the purification craft of polyphenols from Capsicum annuum leaves

  • Objective:To create and optimize the purification craft of polyphenols from Capsicum annuum leaves. Methods:Macroporous resin was chosen under the condition of static adsorption and desorption, then using single-factor approach to study the optimal column chromatography conditions. Result:HPD-100 resin has better adsorption and desorption properties than that of other resins. The optimal column chromatography conditions:resin column diameter to height ratio 1:4, sample polyphenol concentration between 0. 6 ~ 1. 2g/mL, adsorption rate 2BV/h, adsorpted resin 5BV/h flow rate of water washing 3BV, and using 3BV of 70% ethanol for elution, then combine the elution, vacuum drying. Conclusion:This process was simple and efficient for purification the polyphenols from Capsicum annuum leaf extract. Following above conditions, the polyphenols purity increaseed from 4% to 68%.
