Study on the effect of extrusion process parameters on the dog food product quality

  • Chicken and rice were chosen as the main raw materials for dog food diet preparation.The influences of research barrel temperature, moisture content and screw speed on extrusion dog food quality indicators (protein digestibility, starch gelatinization degree) were examined.First, the single factor experiment including barrel temperature, moisture content and screw speed was performed.Then the orthogonal experiments were designed according to the single factor experimental results.The results for the three parameters was barrel temperature was 80-100-130-140℃;moisture content was 26%;the screw speed was 150r/min.This study might offer a certain theoretical guidance for the application of twin-screw extrusion technology to control dog food production and processing of product quality.
