  • Food safety index is the digital information which can reflect the basic situation of food safety. It can provide a scientific basis for decision-making and governance of the national food safety and can also provide guidelines for public consumption. Unified national food safety index has not been formed yet. In practice, some local governments have launched the food safety index which has achieved a certain degree of experience. Recently, the theoretical research is so scarce that the basic problem of food safety index construction still needs to be strengthen in order to promote the establishment of China’s food safety index.
