Optimization of veratramine extraction by response surface methodology

  • In order to optimize the veratramine extraction, response surface methodology was used to establish models for optimization of extraction time, extraction temperature, liquid-to-material ratio. Results showed that extraction time , extraction temperature , liquid - to - material ratio had significant affects on extraction of veratramine. Optimal conditions for achieving the high extraction of veratramine were extraction time 2.0h, extraction temperature 75.0℃, liquid-to-material ratio 1∶9 (g/mL) . Under these optimized conditions, with 20g raw materials extraction get veratramine 98.23mg, and the model prediction was worth 2.66 percent error. Extraction were conducted under the optimum condition and the result showed the model fitted well with the experimental data and the model was feasible.
