Abstract
Objective:To determine the anti-nociceptive and anti-inflammatory of the fruit of Schefflera arboricola Hayata. Methods:The pain-killing effect was tested by hot plate model and body twisting model induced by acetic acid in mice. The anti-inflammatory functions were observed and compared by the method of xylene-induced ear edema in mice. Results:The fruit of Schefflera arboricola Hayata had analgesic effect on the pain caused by hot and acetic acid, and could inhibit the inflammation induced by xylene and significantly reduce ear swelling of mice. Conclusion:These results suggested that the fruit of Schefflera arboricola Hayata had anti-nociceptive and anti-inflammatory effect.
