Study on the extraction and purification of hesperidin from Pericarpium Citri Reticulate

  • An effective extraction and purification technology of hesperidin from Pericarpium Citri Reticulate strip was established:hesperidin was extracted by ethanol refluxing and the crude extract was purified via ethanol washing followed by distilled water washing. The most optimal extraction conditions were as follows:75% (v/v) ethanol refluxing at 85℃ for 2.5h, the ratio of Pericarpium Citri Reticulate to extracting liquid was 1∶35 (w/v) . The most optimal purifying conditions were that 1.0g crude extract was washed with 10mL 95% ethanol for 20min, repeated 2 times, then washed with distilled water once. HPLC analysis showed that the yield rate of hesperidin was 3.28% ±0.1% raw material, the purity of the final products and the recovery rate were 93.1% ±1.1% and 70.7%±2.2%, respectively.
