Study on the antioxidation effect of Asparagus extracts

  • Objective:To study the antioxidation functional effect of Asparagus extracts on oxidative stress model mice.Methods:Experimental aging mice molded with D-gal, then the mice were gavaged with different dosage of asparagus extracts and VC respectively everyday.30d later, the lipid peroxide level and the antioxidant enzymes vitality were conducted.Results:Asparagus extracts significantly increased GSH, SOD, GSH-PX and T-AOC activity levels (p<0.05) in plasma and liver, and significantly decreased MDA content in plasma and liver (p<0.05) .Conclusion:Asparagus extracts could improve the antioxidant capacity of oxidative stress model mice.
