Correlation study between antioxidant activity and lowering blood glucose of momordica polysaccharide

  • The purification and functional properties of soluble momordia polysaccharide were studied by DEAE-cellulose DE-32, Sephodex G-75 glucan gel column chromatography.The correlation between momoridca polysaccharides' antioxdiant activity and its lowering blood glucose was also researched.The clearance rate of ·OH was comparable 82% with 20mg/mL momordica polysacharide.The ratio of scavenging ·OH increased with enchancing activity of lowering glucose.It showed that momordica polysaccharides could make blood glucose below and increase the content of hepatic glycogen significantly at the dose of 250mg/kg.
