Catalytic oxidation of glucose to sodium gluconate by Au/γ-Al2O3 catalysts

  • Au/γ-Al2O3 catalysts were prepared by the direct anion exchange (DAE) method, characterized by TEM and XRD techniques and their catalytic performances were evaluated in glucose oxidation. The experimental results showed that as the gold loadings, pH and calcination temperatures increased, the catalytic activities of Au/γ-Al2O3 firstly increased and then decreased in the end. The optimal condition of catalyst preparation was as follows:HAuCl4 concentration 0.5mmol/L, pH4, calcination at 300℃ for 4h. A catalytic activity of 0.366molglu/ (min·gAu) were obtained over Au/γ-Al2O3 catalyst under the optimal preparation condition.
