Extraction of starch from Arrowhead Corm by frequency sweeping pulsed ultrasound

  • Frequency sweeping pulsed ultrasound (FSPU) was employed in starch extraction from Arrowhead Corm.The single factor tests and orthogonal test of the ultrasonic assisted extraction were investigated in the study.By measuring the extraction ratio and purity of starch, the optimization of experimental condition, ultrasonic extraction time, ultrasonic frequency, frequency sweep range and ultrasonic on/off time ratio were investigated and determined as follows:10min, 33kHz, ±0.5kHz and 30s/5s.The extraction ratio and purity of starch were 96% and 87.5%, respectively.
