Preparation of gluconic acid using UV/H2O2

  • Gluconic acid was prepared by addition of hydrogen hydroxide into glucose solution under ultraviolet irradiation.Effects of reaction time, temperature, glucose concentration and the molar ratio of glucose to H2O2 on the yield of gluconic acid were investigated.Optimal technology was obtained by using an orthogonal design.The optimal condition was as follows:the molar ratio of glucose to H2O2 1:3, glucose concentration 0.25g/mL, reacting time 6h and reaction temperature 50℃.Under this reaction conditions, the yield of gluconic acid was 78.26%.
