Abstract:
Objective:To evaluate the anti-iron deficiency anemia effect of
Ziziphus jujuba Mill. pollysaccharide-iron complex (ZJSP-Fe (Ⅲ)), to provide basis for development and utilization of wild jujube resources. Methods:The UV, FT-IR, SEM were used to characterize the ZJSP-Fe (Ⅲ), DPPH·, ABTS
+·and·OH scavenging test were used to investigate the antioxidant effect, the iron release effect was tested by artificial gastric juice and intestinal fluid, the iron deficiency model was used to investigate the anti-IDA effect by comparing the data about routine blood test, the contents of EPO and hepcidin before and after administration. Results:The iron contents in ZJSP-Fe (Ⅲ) was 21.7%, and the EC
50 of scaveng rates for DPPH·, ABTS
+·and·OH were 1.47, 10.21, 0.37 mg/mL, after digested in artificial gastric juice and intestinal fluid the iron release rate was 89.28%, the RBC, HGB, HCT, MCV level in IDA rats were ameliorated after administration of ZJSP-Fe (Ⅲ). Conclusion:ZJSP-Fe (Ⅲ) showed good antioxidant and iron release effect
in vitro (
p<0.05), and it could ameliorate the IDA symptom (
p<0.05), which would be a new iron supplement, and necessary to investigate the mechanism.
